What makes this magazine advert is the large bold and clear writing also the picture and the fact that it made it he the top 30 uk dupstep also the fact the it tells you who the music is by and the use of very few fonts makes good and simple and also the picture of the singer uses the star image of that singer to bring in the extra sell and also the background looks very imaginative and relaxing therefore promoting the idea that dupstep is good for you. also the use of colouring attract the eye making the person want to look at the magazine and this then would encourage the person to buy the magazine.

Aphex Twin - Come to Daddy

This music video consists of alot of editing that has fast cuts, montage and the use of special effects. The narrative performance involves characters that are made to look scary and the mise en scene used such as the make up and location are very effective in showing what is meant to be shown, the video is scary and that is what Chris Cunningham wanted to show. Dystopia is used as the video looks very creepy and original, also the sound and the devil-like video brings all this together. The use of dark blind spots help the video achieve this devil-like scene, also its very monochrome which is done for a purpose.

Costume Analysis

The costume is black because it helps the theme of the genre of our music video, which is dub-step, and it forwards the concept of dub-step being dark. The color of the costume will help the two main characters stand out, from the locations and the people walking by. Also, it complies with the cover of our CD being black. Effects are going to be used in most of our footage so the costume wouldnt be musch of a problem. The clothes are casual, meaning that the two characters in the video should not be as important to the audience as the main attraction would be the effects and the actual song.

This music video consists of alot of fast cuts, and alot of cut to beat which makes the video more interesting and imaginative. The close-ups of the lip syncing show when the rappers are rapping their lyrics and the edited writing used in speech bubbles makes the video more contrasted. The high exposer makes the red look brighter then other colours which adds emphasis to certain colours that the director wants people to notice. The close-up shows the dance moves in a more tense way which makes the viewer watch carefully and the extreme close-ups are to make the viewer show that the person is an importance to the video also. There are different shots such as long, medium and establishing shot which make the video look different in different parts of the song.

CD Case 3 Analysis



The font is designed is certain style, looks like he used paint. The image of the crown over the font is effective as well the Great Britain flag on the background with a blue layer in front to make the font stand out. This also has few colors but it has specific feature that makes the cover eye catchy such as the font, images and colors.

This also has a simple background color, however there is an effect that is applied to the background, which makes this cd case stand out. It has a logo at top centre, this image clearly associates with a certain band or a record label, and this gives me an idea to make our own original logo, which will make our cd case eye catchy and professional. The colors of the font are displayed effectively in the middle.

I am going to analysis the album advert of professional music and say what makes the advert attract the people to buy the music. Their colour scheme stands out from most album advert as the use of bright yellow and the green stands out from the usual white and blue that everyone uses also the use of the orange attracts people’s eye once that is done the person most like will look at the advert then person would know that its available on iTunes which would make the person attracted as most people have phone or iPod that they listen to music on and they would download it.


The music is be advertised as the greatest debut album of all times and the badge showing five stars would make the person want to buy such a good piece of music. also the date of relases lets people know when to buy and makes easier for the product to sell faster.

CD Case 1 Analysis


This dubstep cover has a plain background, the font color stands out and there is a design at the side, which relates to dubstep. The genre is very fast and catchy which are why there are colorful lines. A specific part of this case appeals to me which is the speaker in the middle of the, ‘D’ and this tells me that the designers has thought about this design.

The way that there is like a blue sky and a man standing makes the picture stand out also the buildings seem like they are like cartoon and not realistic also the man’s hands are made with the same black colour and the colouring of his neck is the same the way that the black is used makes it appleaing to those that listen to hip-hop and rap music as the music is meant for that type of audience. Furthermore, the fact that its has guest such as ghetto and chipmunk appearing at the event would attract the fans of both rappers and also the fact that its being sold at HMV makes it available to everyone and would allow people to buy.

Production Treatment

The Music Video – Misshin Wabbit

Duration – 2.47

Audience – 16 – 24 Mainly Males, an animation video usually appeals to kids but the genre of the song appeals more to adult/teenagers.

Resume – In the video we will make, it will consist of different types of editing and animation by the use of final cut pro, the video will have two males that are looking for a rabbit that they believe is precious and can bring in a lot of money as it is worth a lot. The video will consist of the two men using their special abilities by transporting into different locations by jumping on the floor and jumping into walls, this transaction will be a montage and will flow nicely between each transaction. The video will have different edited colours on screen, and the use of extreme close-ups will emphasis the tension in the video and how angry the two men are when looking for the rabbit. Fast cuts will be used on the two men in different locations and also slow motion will be used to illustrate the silence of the cars. The dub-step song consists of rabbits so the use of green screen will illustrate this and the two men will be shown trying to catch the rabbit on green screen and failing due to be too fast, also fast cuts will be used when the two men are drinking a bottle of liquid that is surpost to get them to catch the rabbit easier, the use of editing will show the bottle going down in different stages. Also the mise en scene used will be black tracksuits and balaclavas to emphasis how dangerous the men can be and how crazy they are as they do not want to show their identity when finding the rabbit, also the use of speech bubbles which will be edited on final cut pro will show how the men communicate and what they are saying to each other. Overall the story consists of two men trying their hardest to find a rabbit that is animated and the use of special powers and transportation will show the use of editing we will use.

Performance – Two characters, Energetic performance, The use of editing will show the performance and a little bit of lip syncing will be used.

Costumes – Jeans (blue and black) and jumper

Any SPX – Fast paced (spped up the time) for traffic flowing, different colours effects, reverse footage. Other dark effects are going to be used.

Key Location – Streets, Park and Piccadilly.

Recording Days - 18th October, 21st October, 25th October, 28th October, 2nd November.

Recording these footage in different weathers e.g rain, cold, and sunny. We have decided to start shooting on Friday 18th October. We have created a small but detailed shot list, which is what we expect to achieve in the time that we have set ourselves. We are hoping to go to Piccadily four times hoping the weather changes each time so we can get interesting footage. The other location are in the bus and outside Manchester Uni.

Professor Green ft. Maverick Sabre - Jungle (Official HD)



This song is dubstep but with lyrics rapped over them, the video illustrates the crazy sound of dubstep and scenes in the video show violence and fast cut shots to show the up beat tempo and the rush of Hackney. The video emphasises violence, money and cars, the sharp sound of dubstep shows greater emphasis on violence and pain. Most clips are deliberatley in the dark with a slight bit of light from a lampost, it shows how dubstep is mostly listened to at night in a club or at a party , and gives it that dark and dangerous theme of the underground lifestyle.

For our response to this video, we will also use fast pace cuts to show the fast up beat tempo of dubstep. Some of our clips would be in the dark as it suits the theme of dubstep. In our video there will be scenes of anger to show the high excitement through the sound of dubstep illustrating the times when dubstep is played; through times of anger, adrenaline, violence or excitement.
